Busy with Wellington bear

I have been making quite a few cards with the current loop. including wellington bear and michael powell.
getting my D0-crafts gallery updated and so here are the latest ones

This one is made with an A5 craft card, stamped script and typewriter with the urban stamps in dark blue ink. i have added wellington papers distressed edges and inked in blue. also stamped with urban stamps 'for you ' the topper and the mat under it are also from wellington range. i added stitched detail with the fine end of a whispers pen and added brown buttons with string tied in a knot .

This is a Fathers day card for a foot ball fan. made with A5 kraft card and wellington papers matted onto orange card. distressed edges and inked in red. stitch detail in white added a wellington topper and some buttons.

This one is on a blue DL card or tall card. again, wellington papers and topper , i used a fine end of blue whispers pen to do the stitching. and lincoln linen button to embellish.

This is using a white A5 card. the front is folded back (in half) i added some wellington red paper to cover the front and inside. then some more wellington papers in blue and stripy - first punched with a border punch and then stuck over the red. i used some peel off stickers in gold to embellish. and some stones.
using a cream textured card i embossed with the brick tri boss folder and then ran over it with an orange ink pad on the raised 'bricks' this was matted onto some red. and finally i added the Michael powell topper and the 'Dad' sentiment from wellington range.

Demo samples from Saturday 2nd June 2012

Hi, had a nice demo on Saturday in Hassocks craft central.
i promised to put some demo samples here. i did leave some lovely ones in the shop to. so go and look if you live near Ditchlin beacon, garden pride.

This is a square card, i covered the front with some lovely pinky purple textured card, first punching the corners with a pretty flower corner punch. also leaving a small border of white card showing around the edges.

I then stamped top and bottom with the lucy cromwell bunting stamps, i didnt ink up the little bird houses that are hanging under the bunting.

i used a white pen to make faux stitching around card, and also to colour in the bunting. i also used a purple whispers pen to colour in the bunting too.

in the centre of the card i added a Lucy Cromwell die cut topper, off set and stuck with silicone glue to make it 3D. embellished with sparkly stones. I was using the Lucy Cromwell A4 Ultimate Die cut pack.

this is another example of the same idea, just added bows & a small mat cut with a die cut shape on big shot under the topper.

The next card is using the papers from the Papermainia bexley black capsule range and colouring in the flowers to match the die cut decoupage dress in the Lucy Cromwell A4 ultimate die cut pack. I used orange and red textured card to mat the papers to match the dress and flowers.

The following card is from an idea in the Do-crafts magazine by Clare Curd in 2010
I have stamped the Lucy Cromwell clear stamps 'Tea cups' onto some tetured yellow card. then stamped the cups again a few times on several papers from the Lincoln linen and Bexley Black capsule range, cut and pasted them onto the yellow to make the different colour cups and saucers. topped with  blitters flowers and some black stones

Also using the Lucy Cromwell range, i made a Mother card. this is based on a card in the current creativity magazine (May/june 2012) by

This is another example from the Lucy Cromwell A4 die cut crafters set. I used the butterfly border punch

Tutorial for exploding box

I did promise to post the exploding box tutorial on here today, so if you make one, please post and i can see it :-)

Take one sheet of 12 x 12', i used portabella road.
Mark it into 9 equal squares with a pencil each one will be 4" square. like a grid.
cut out the four corner squares carefully and retain, it will now look like the  cross shape below.

turn this over and then stick the retained cut off squares on the four edge squares , they will fit spot on !
i then put a red check  square to fit and cover the centre.

the next sheet i cut to   10.5" square and you need to divide it into equal squares as the first one you did , these are  3.5 each
Then cutting out and retaining  the edge squares as before , turning the whole thing over and sticking the cut out bits onto the
edge squares to decorate as before, add the red checked square in the centre too.

do exactly the same on a third sheet, this time its a 9" square and the penciled squares will be 3" each
sticking the cut out squares on the other side as illustrated.
as the paper was plainer on this one - i  also embossed the cut out squares with the buttons tri boss folder before sticking them down and also ran a red ink pad softly over the surface to just distress a little bit.

i inked all the edges in red ink and then put silicone glue onto the biggest cross centre red check square,  stuck the middle cross onto it and then do the same with the smallest cross too.
it will look like this image below.

I then inked all edges in red and added photos and embelishments to each inside flap. i used some of the glittered portabella road designer die cuts under the photos. I used buttons and tiny bows also from the porabella road range .

finally adding a small die cut from the 6 x6 " portabella road paper pack & to this i added tiny gold letters to say Queen Elizabeth diamond jubilee and 60

For the lid, i used some complementary blue card measuring 5.25" square, score an inch all around the edges. fold and snip the corners stick down to form a box lid. I used the large die cut from the 12 x 12 " portabella road paper pack to stick centrally on the box lid adding large bloomer flowers with edges inked and glittered. fixed with a red brad . i stuck red ribbon around the sides of the lid with double sided tape, tying up in a little knot at the edge.
I hope you like it and will have a go, much easier than it seems.

The lid also has Eden and Isaac, the names of my daughters twins, born this Jubilee year and 2012

Had to get ready for a couple of demo's and just back from a week in Cornwall. nice scrapbook pictures ! watch this space !
Decided to do a feature with the Portabella road papers as its so on-trend.
using the Queens Jubilee year and the twins birth year as the theme i made an exploding box.

Its me again ! i was happily telling someone about one of my favourite scrapbook pages on here. and now i cant find it ?? so i am going to post it again.
apologies to those who have already seen it.

and for those people who dont know ( maybe ones who live on Mars maybe) my daughter had a baby boy and a baby girl. isnt she clever !

Having a lovely time in Cornwall, managed to get very chilled in a short time.
just now thinking about getting ready for my next demo at the art of craft in North camp on May 12th.

Birthday Book

I love being in Cornwall as i can visit Scrapbook Magic a lovely shop in Mullion meadows , margaret does regular classes and i was going to make a nice little Birthday book today, got the time wrong and got there 3hrs too late !! anyway luckily Margaret saved me the kit and i have a bind it all at home so i can finish it later. this is what it is meant to look like :-)
