Halloween project for Dragons Lair designs DT

This is my lovely mate Laura on her 40th Birthday. She is a Halloween baby and; decided to have a party, which was great fun !
I used the really fabulous Dragons Lair Designs Halloween set.
Find the shop , fan page on FB links below

This is a new way to scrapbook for me, part digital , but great fun and useful as you can
Add things before you print out and use :-)
I started out with a lime green 12x12 and distressed, inked and sprayed
With orange and purple smooch sprays

I printed put lots of flowers, you can 3d them by snipping as shown below

Then gluing the next petal over the snipped one . See below

In my local Tiger store I bought these beads in bottles, really cute eh?
I poured in a dollop of glossy accents and then added the beads to make a
Pretty centre to my flower. I also used the beads in the centre of my pretty moth.

I printed off an A4 piece of purple, cut in half and punched edges, placed as shown
Overlapping with ribbon on the top for interest.

All of the above orange piece was done digitally (except Laura in the frame)
And then printed off so I was able to get the 'rain drops' over the blue and orange, plus the text in a vellum style. Laura in the frame printed out and 3d'd on top.
I had some raindrops printed on vellum left over from my Halloween lantern project
So I used it over the witch topper with a BOO rub on

I finished off with lots of great embellishment from the Dragons Lair , bats
Flowers, lace and borders. A bit if real lace too. I hope you like it

Autumn leaves, Hel's Sheridan's Sunday stamper

morning all, this wet and windy Monday ! & guess who is going to Anglesey tomorrow for a weeks break ! Packing my thermals me thinks !
Anyway, I wanted to enter my Sunday stamper before I went & sneakily used do crafts stamps so I can also enter it into #docrafts Monday . Find Hel's sheridans page for this & other amusing bloggings
On here :- http://pinkleart.blogspot.co.uk/2014/10/sunday-stamper-week-328-autumn-leaves.html

This card is also for lovely friends who took us out to the Clos du marquis in Stockbridge yesterday
For Adrian's birthday treat :-) fabulous restaurant !

It's 2 x Gorjuss girls stamps on capsule background stripes.
I used the leaves and corner border from the stamp below, love
That one and use it lots

The stamp above is the one I used for the little girl, and stamped
Her in black memento ink

See above corner stamp used with brown memento
And on the leaves I used artist pens to get my autumn leaves

I then coloured my image in with the same pen set, stamping the leaves again over tag
To match the stamp below the tag on the corner.

As you can see above, I finished off with a Gorjuss girls ladybird brad, coloured with red
And brown permanent markers to match, and added some red berries
I stamped some extra leaves from the stamp set around card, stamping some
On white card, cutting out and 3D- ing them on the card

This is my entry , it's my Mum & her friends on VE Day 1945, written on the back is 'This was taken
By a sailor on VE Day !'  What a wonderful snapshot in time !

I bought an oval canvas and covered it with tissue paper

I used some pretty flower paper from Tim's wallpaper pk
& watercoloured them to blend with the colours on my photo.

Then I added some Union Jack type paper from portabello road

As you can see above the photo is mounted on the reverse of the flower paper & stamped
In black over my mums jacket & red 'vintage treasures!'
Below is a close up of the details 1945 is cut from Tims paper

VE Day is stamped with DoCrafts typeset alphabet & punched out with a round punch. I
Rubbed blue ink and treasure gold around the edge of frame.
The Crown shape was painted in black then I used green distress glitter & treasure gold over that
Then I added the bow

Hels Sunday stamper challenge - Hazy shades of winter

hello, been away from here this week . Hubby's birthday etc etc
Anyway, it's time for Hels Sheridan's Sunday stamper challenge, it's fun so why not join in
I made a card for craft stamper January warm and fuzzy challenge & there is some shadowing
Around the little girls Raincoat & the puddle etc so I hope it will qualify .

I used a 7 x 7 blank white card, I am liking this size at the moment.
I used a yellow 6 x6 coredinations for the backing card which I embossed
In a 6 x 6 mistletoe embossing folder (DoCrafts) which I sanded and inked
In barn door distress ink. I also used the barn door around the edges.

My little girl stamp is a wooden one by John Byers for DoCrafts
I coloured her in with pro markers and a little water coloured
Yellow & grey for umbrella & shadows

I cut my stamped image  in a circle to fit inside the embossing folder
Circle with the circle cutter shown below

Halloween lantern, launch, brand new kit

this is a sneek peek at the Halloween set of scrapbook/card making papers from the dragonslairdesigns shop here :- http://dragonslairdesigns.com/shop/

I used my Tim Holtz lantern die with the dragons lair papers.
I found some nice pale green vellum and printed off the golden raindrops
On it for the see through windows.
The witch and all the embellishments (except happy haunting) are from the dragons
Lair :-) I put a little battery operated candle inside too.
I am going to make a set of three for my Hallowen window display.
Watch this space !

My Guest designer post for A Vintage Journey

I was thrilled and excited when I won a challenge at A Vintage Journey, This gave
me The chance to be their guest designer and the theme is Autumn.

Find my post here :-)
http://www.vintagejourney.com/2014/09/winners-announced-today-and-guest-spot.html?m=1

I found a frame with a mirror in a local bric-à-brac  type shop and decided that this was going to be used for my project
Its for my daughters shop  and I thought she would love to have her children's
Photos in there too.

It's Mixed media altered art , distressed and inked into submission ! I apologise that there is a photo of the side of my gate on the mirror side, really tricky to photograph a mirror with out getting me taking the photo in it ! And the glass on the photo side reflects.

I took the glass and mirror out of the frame to begin my painting.

This is the left side painted in Fresco pumpkin soup acrylic & then I dry brushed
Some TH picket fence in places to lift it a bit.

The part with the photo frames, I used a much loved paint i have had for years called stewart gill Byzantine. To add some distress I Did some
dry brushing with Hey Pesto fresco paint.
I used a Tim Holtz technique to add texture by using one of his stencils with embossing paste in red
and some stamping with a black pad for more interest.
i added bakers twine, a Tim metal 'family tag' & a tiny cross as my daughter is religious.
the next was fun bit, i used metal to do the painted industrial technique, but i used
distress inks as i wanted them to be like jewel colours. see below, great i think ! these are going on the sides of the mirror frame, this is the embossing folder i used on them before the inks

this is a photo below of the strips before paint was added

Below i have just added some close up details of all the additions , die cut TH tattered
flowers and leaves, French flight butterflies.

one of the twins, Isaac 2yrs old looking cute in a vintage frame

Maia , the eldest at 7 below , well away from the insects as she hate them, her mother has to
spray the bedroom with special moth spray before she goes to bed each night, (furniture polish !) hee hee

Below is little Eden Rose who is the other twin and very adorable too, not bothered about  the creepy crawlies near her photo.

And below is Florence who is 4 and is a pickle !

i hope you like my project, thanks for looking.
and if you would now like to see the project that won the challenge origionally
