Foxy little lady

I love this gorjus girls stamp, the leaves and corner stamp on it are fab.
I coloured her in very softly in water colored down artiste pens . She is stamped in chocolate brown on a background of spritzed inked and distressed paper. All the papers are heavily inked / distressed and dragged into ink (artiste -gold stone ) that was spritzed on an acrylic block. I cut out a small framed girl from the paper pack 8x8 gorjus girls -stamped over this and the corner stamp in purple colour box ink.
The with love & butterflies stamps are from bellisima range - shoes & bag

Art Deco with capsule spots & stripes - jewels

This card was made using the larges rectangle parenthesis die and the next size down was used
On the Art Deco topper . This was from Art Deco foiled toppers PMA 157216
Backing paper is Spots & stripes -Jewels , capsule range.  I used a border punch for the blue strip
& gold border peel off with adhesive jewels . The bakers twine is from the got jus girls range.
I added an insert that was also punched

Had some fun with the jewel capsule spots and stripes pack. 

Interesting how different a stamp can look.

I enjoyed spritzing & dipping with Do Crafts Artiste spritzing ink

Gold stone colour. 

This time the little lady was coloured in using Artiste pens.

Gorjus girl with her bunny - made for a 1 yr old

This is an 8x 8 that I made for my best friends granddaughter.
Emily Rose is one year old & I thought this stamp would be cute.

The card is cream, so I stamped the gorjus girl onto cream and coloured her in with pro markers.
I am not an expert at these but I think it's ok.
The roses paper I used to stamp the dress is from my scrap & the roses background is Lucy Cromwell
Glittered design stack. I stamped the frame (in the same stamp pack) onto some spotty capsule paper.
I finished off with gorjus girl buttons and bow. I also used some he bury lane stickers around the frame.

40thBirthday card

I made this 40th Birthday card for my lovely daughter , using the gorgeous Madame Payroud collection from Docrafts
The inside has a section for me to put tickets  in, this is to see Wicked in Southampton ! I am not silly, I get to go too :-)

 the background is a pale blue  paper covered with a MP vellum paper which is only 6 x 6 so i ripped
it down the diagonal and have distressed the edges also inked the edges.
i added the red organza ribbon across this.
the hearts are from  die cut selections from the MP range the top heart has its edges inked in red.
i stamped 'Daughter' using the friends and relations acrylic stamps set from Do Crafts.
this was decoupages onto a darker blue and then red. all edges inked in red as before.
the 40 and the surround on the happy birthday sentiment are also stamped.
the top clear butterfly is stamped onto acetate and cut out, shaped to stand out.
finished off with pearls and another butterfly.
the inside, (see below) has a pocket which i cut from the front of the 8 x 8 MP packet of papers
(waste not want not!) I also used an envelope and a pretty bird charm from the MP range.

Birthday cards for the twins

Well, it's new year and January brings 2demo's and 2 birthdays. My daughter is 40 on the 15th & her twins are 2 on the 19th.

So I am crafting with all the new lovely things from DoCrafts for January/February

First off is the lovely Anita's foiled A4 decoupage sets, the baby boy and girl ones are ideal for the twins, but also great for new babies or even cute valentines.

I started  with the A4decoupage baby boy sheet

I used some red card & papers from capsule spots and stripes 'Festive'

                                 I chose a kraft stepper 6 x 8  card for this one

Use the red card for the inside and the front flap, cover this 

With blue spotted paper that has the edges punched

I chose a topper from the A4 pack , separated the frame from the picture. 

Using an oval die, I cut down the picture and then stuck it on red card

When the frame is placed back the red shows through, adding interest and depth.

I decoupaged the puppy with a few pieces . But saved some 

For another card.

Using the urban 'typeset' stamps I stamped and embossed 'Isaac' on a label . This was placed on top of a hearts border. And another tag

I used the smaller stamps for the circular '2'

And mounted it onto a punched spotty circle

The 'heart' red pin on the 2 is die cut from the 

Sew lovely, set of dies

Finally just add a silver happy birthday peel off. 

the card for Eden, Isaac's twin sister was made in the same way, but sideways for a change

i chopped the back off of the stepper card.

this card below is a valentines card made with the rest of the decoupage kit 

left over from Isaac's card

I used the remaining pieces from the pack to make a 

Valentine Card

Cards from December '13 Art of Craft demo

                      I promised you a step by step blog of the 'Roaring Twenties Easel card and others.
                                                                         see below.

 

First take a blank 8 x8 card and fold into an easel card by folding

the front in half as shown below

                  Then stick a strip of black card at the base of the unfolded piece, as below

Choose some pretty background paper from the Papermania, Art Deco, roaring twenties pack
gorgeous foiled papers, see below photo of the pack

Stick chosen paper on the base above the black strip, see photo below

                                         Then on the folded front piece of card mat black card
                                                      as below

The photo below is showing the velvet ribbon i used on the base, over the black strip , wind around the card and stick down at front with sellotape.
and the sellotape  wont be shown , we will add a die cut topper to cover this

 

die cut some ovals, as shown, this is for the 'stopper' for the easel, use the
smaller blue one and the black one the larger blue oval is for the topper on the front of card.
 use foam tape to 3d this as the card needs some kind of raised element to make
 the card stay in the easel position.

 above left, i have added a sentiment ' Celebrate' from
                                          the topper pack below

 

Mat & layer some more of the foiled paper and mat over the black front of card as

shown below

die cut some more pieces to use as the front element.

these are the dies and papers i used below. 

the oval , you will have already, just use the large blue one

                                       cut the die below in silver and some foiled backing paper too
                                                

                                                  cut the heart die with some of the foiled paper

one of the oblong dies i cut in half to make the topper, 

this was then stuck behind the silver die cut of the same shape

The topper is put together with those elements and placed on the front of the card as the photo below shows

maybe add a feather or two for a little pizzazz ! always make sure they are not too high, as it wont fit into
the envelope when placed flat .

The card below is a DL (tall card) i matted some purple card behind and stamped the lovely lady
in black die ink, coloured in with Artiste pens, the borders are also to be found on the same
stamp, very versatile.On this same stamp is a cocktail glass and a sentiment saying, 'To someone special'
which i have used on the forever friends card which follows this one.

great for last minute cards.

                                  Finally a photo below of a cute Country Companions  topper, decoupaged

                       and used for a christmas card, I cut the bunting (flags ) with the build a scene die 'tea party'
                                        for the bunting using the Kraft notes papers ( as the previous card )
                                                            for this and also for  the backing paper.
