Monday again! The day where all kinds of artists from many different genres, join in The Creative Blog Hop (TCBH) after being tagged by someone the previous Monday. The Creative Blog Hop is the brain child of a blogger, whose identity has been lost along the way. The intention is for us all, as bloggers, to get to know each other better and share ideas and inspiration. It is most commonly explained as similar to the playground game 'Tag' (you're it) but over a huge expanse of space (conceivably the whole world - or at least the parts of the world that have access to the internet). Each Blogger introduces their tagger and themselves, answers four questions about themselves and then they 'tag' three more Bloggers and it goes on and on (or at least that is the aim of the game).
I am very happily retired at last ! I longed for retirement so I could do all the crafting thing I wanted
& there is no doubt I am turning out much better work - BUT , I still don't have enough time for everything !!
I have 4 grandchildren , my only child decided she wanted a big family . So there is Maia 7 & Florence , she is 4 & then the twins Isaac & Eden rose.
I love my (thankfully) small garden & have loved being able to sit & paint this year.
To go on a bread making course, now I love making my own bread!
I love visiting national trust houses, great for scrapbooking
& seeing great Art
This is a page of Mottisfont Abbey in Hampshire
Which is famous for it's roses
I love to knit , sew , cross stitch and crochet , just shame we have to sleep
Or I would get it all finished !
This is my work of art for little Florence 's birthday , she is
Obsessed with dressing up clothes ! I had no idea when I bought the pattern
How much work there was in the dress ! But she was so thrilled, it was worth it
Work I love the most is anything Tim Holtz , altered art, inky things
And scrapbooking.
I demonstrate for DoCrafts so not entirely retired !
I am on the design teams of
The Crafting Cafe & The Dragons Lair.
This next photo is a scrapbook page using the lovely digi images from
The Dragons lair shop :- http://dragonslairdesigns.com/shop/
This is Maia dressed up in world war 1 clothes at Milestones
The next page is of my maternal grandmother in 1917
The little piece of art below I am proud to say has won a first on the Vintage Journey
Challenge & I am thrilled to be a guest designer on their blog in a couple of weeks
I wasn't going to waffle on like 'WAR & PEACE ' ! So sorry if I have bored you all
Just going to post a couple of projects that are my current favourites
Now to introduce my lovely tag-ees !
I have got to know Marleen Michaelis Gallagher through being in the Design Inspiration team
At the Dragon's Lair designs. http://stampingdragondesigns.blogspot.co.uk
My name is Marleen and I come from Denmark.. Im married and have 3 children.
I started crafting after my eldest was born, 11 years ago. I started out making cards with any cheep bits and bobs that I could find, but my little box of goodies soon turned into a bigger box, and then a couple of boxes and so on..
I started with cards, but when my son son was born 2 years later, I tried my hand at scrapbooking.
My son had a very diffecult toddlerhood, in and out of hospitals, and I found scrapbooking gave me a chance to "stay in control" and still relax while being creative.
Later on and after my "baby" was born, I decided id try and make a career out of crafting. Its hard
work, but im at my crafting happiest when get a chance to teach a class or to do a demo.
Hopefully one day, I will get my dream to come true, and make a living doing what I love.
Next it's the equally lovely and talented Heather Mitchell , who I know through DoCrafts
:- Hello everyone! I'm Heather and I have only been card making for a couple of years, In that time I have been incredibly lucky and I now design for docrafts and their Creativity magazine, Papercrafter magazine and I am also on the online design team for Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine. I absolutely love designing cards and my background in textile design has really helped me build up the textures and inky layers! I'd like to thank Janna for nominating me for the Creative Blog Hop and I hope you can join me on my blog on Monday 22nd September for my post!
